Did you know?

• Over 50 miles of the Shoshone River and its tributaries Crooked Creek, Whistle Creek, Foster Gulch, Polecat Creek, Sage Creek, and Big Wash are listed as impaired on Wyoming’s 2020 Integrated 303(d) Report.
• Both sedimentation and coli concentrations have diminished the use of these waters for their designated purposes.
• There is money available to landowners participating in practices to improve the conditions of these water.

The Shoshone Conservation District receives grant money from The Wyoming Department of Agriculture (WDA) to improve this situation. Per available funding, the Shoshone Conservation District offers cost-share to producers who implement irrigation best management practices (BMPs) on land draining into impaired waters.
